“I have come to believe that the very modes of life and thinking that strike most people in the West as antiquated or 'limiting' can liberate us, while the Western dream of autonomy and choice without limits is, in fact, a prison; that the quest to define ourselves on our own is a kind of El Dorado, driving to madness the many who seek after it; that for our best, highest selves to soar, other parts of us must be tied down, enclosed, limited, bound.”

― Sohrab Ahmari, The Unbroken Thread: Discovering the Wisdom of Tradition in an Age of Chaos

I don't know this author personally and have nothing to gain by promoting his new book. But this was one of the most incredible reads I have come across in a long time. Eventually, all books that handle the current state of the world blend together and soon become forgettable. But not this one. Ahmari is one of the most insightful and eloquent thinkers in the public sphere today. His takes are complex, but intelligibly shared with whomever is willing to listen. Find one of the million podcast interviews he's done if you're hesitant to try this book. I'd be willing to bet you'll buy it anyway, but by all means, vet the guy first. And you're welcome.

"I really enjoyed reading 'The Unbroken Thread'—the way it explores resilience and connection is truly inspiring. It reminded me of how important it is to stay grounded, both mentally and physically. Speaking of staying grounded, I recently found a great option for anyone looking to enhance their practice: best yoga mat online. It’s perfect for maintaining focus and balance during every session!"
